DESCRIPTION
As a founding partner and co-creative in Ghost Pixel Visuals, we had the opportunity to create the first ever projection mapping project at the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. Using 5 40k projectors, the flagship rocks on both sides of the amphitheater lit up for 3 years in a row at the annual Rowdytown event by the talented electronic artists, Big Gigantic. A custom animated library was created to compliment and explore the 300ft tall rocks and their iconic contours. Each clip was timed to a beat grid that would ultimately be live VJ’ed and in sync with the audio feed from the artists’ music. This particular night concluded with an encore song that began in pitch dark with the entirety of the venue’s attendance focusing on the animated “chroma” animation displayed on the rocks.
