Overview
I worked as an animator on the creative team for a full graphics package and production toolkit spanning timelines, maps, screen graphics and archival treatments across the three-part series.
One graphics system across three episodes
- Timelines, maps and archival material
- Reusable graphics and photo treatments
- Three toolkits for editorial
Team-wide package: 100+ motion elements and 50+ photo treatments. My role was animator on the creative team, not sole author of the package.
The hard problem
Keep a dense, shifting case timeline legible and visually consistent across three episodes.
Package decisions & constraints
- Build reusable toolkits for the editorial team
- Let the graphics evolve as the timeline changed
- Use one period-aware system across maps, timelines and archival material
Team-wide outputs
- 100+ motion elements
- 50+ photo treatments
- Three reusable graphics toolkits
